Recognition Series (2018) is an experimental drawing exercise created entirely using the 3D software Blender. Using a pre-exisiting digital model of The Render as the subject,
the oil painting Xmas Turkey (1980) by Canadian painter Mary Pratt as well as other experimental textures are mapped both onto the subject as well as onto the background within the interior space of the software. Camera position, light and material settings were arranged to maximize distortion in an attempt to understand how the software of Blender reads a 3 dimensional object.
